We now have a new look at Pennywise from the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King‘s IT, and just as menacing as you’d expect. The photo comes from the French magazine Mad Movies, which will feature a cover story on the upcoming horror film in its next issue.
The shot, which was spotted by Bloody Disgusting, shows Bill Skarsgård in character as Pennywise The Clown giving the camera an unsettling stare with glowing yellow eyes.

It’s not too much of a departure from the photos we’ve already seen from the film, but it’s addition of bloody to the clown’s already terrifying grimace.
As he looms with his blue glove over his mouth in a “shush” position, you can see blood stains on his finger. The blood is also smeared all over his chin and mouth.

This glimpse follows the previously released shot of the monster terrorizing the Losers’ Club and that record-breaking trailer, which you can see above.
IT will be released in theaters on Sept. 8.
The storyline revolves around a group of young kids in Derry, Maine who come face-to-face with their worst fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
The cast of IT includes: Bill Skarsgård, Javier Botet, Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Chosen Jacobs, Wyatt Oleff, Nicholas Hamilton, Owen Teague, and Logan Thompson.
The adapted screenplay was penned by Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga, and Gary Dauberman. The producers on the film include Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg and Barbara Muschietti, with Marty P. Ewing, Doug Davison and Jon Silk serving as executive producers.
