DeAngelo Williams is an NFL running back who has played for the Carolina Panthers and more recently with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tonight at Impact pay-per-view Slammiversary XV, the 34-year old running back made his in-ring debut, picking up a tag team win with his partner and current Impact Grand Champion Moose against Eli Drake and Chris Adonis.

Currently a free agent with the NFL, Williams and Impact wrestling have both been teasing his debut for weeks, and Williams has previously appeared in an ongoing storyline with Moose enlisting him for the company's flagship PPV.

Moose aka Quinn Ojinnaka, is a former NFL offensive lineman who played for four different teams in his six-year career, including the Atlanta Falcons, the New England Patriots, St. Louis Rams, and Indianapolis Colts.

Williams previously appeared at an Impact Wrestling television taping in April. Along with Cleveland Browns tight end Gary Barnidge, he rescued Moose from a Davey Richards attack.

While Moose did much of the heavy lifting for the team at tonight's event, it was DeAngelo who picked up the win when he frog splashed Adonis from the top rope through a table.

Active professional football players have made guest appearances on professional wrestling tapings in the past. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has appeared at several WWE events, even helping WWE's Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33.

What's next for DeAngelo remains to be seen. Was this a one-time deal for the NFL star, while getting Impact some mainstream sports coverage? Or will Williams wind up joining the Impact/GFW roster? Until he signs with an NFL team in the near future, anything is possible!
