5 Heel Factions That Need To Happen In The WWE
If you look back at the big booms in the wrestling business, you'll notice two major factors that [...]
5. The Glorious Revolution - Bobby Roode, The Miz, Maryse, Tyler Breeze, Fandango
The Glorious Revolution, also called the Revolution of 1688, was the overthrow of King James II of England (James VII of Scotland) by a union of English Parliamentarians with the Dutch stadtholder William III of Orange.
In the WWE, however, it would be a group of self-obsessed wrestlers led by Glorious Bobby Roode and The Miz, who could back up their narcissim in the ring. They would team with a revamped (ie, no random police shirts) Breeze, Fandango.
Roode would make the perfect leader and the eventual tension between he and The Miz would be golden. Breezango (we'd never say that name again, by the way) could finally get the legit respect they deserve.
prevnext4. The Varsity Club - Shelton Benjamin, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Jack Swagger
The Varsity Club was one of the most underappreciated Heel factions in the old WCW. It featured superstars who actually competed in college and had them wear legit wrestling singlets and headgear and overpower opponents with their technical skills. Of course, instead of using technical skills, they nearly always resorted to cheating.
With Shelton Benjamin set to return to action this year, he could join forces with Jordan and Gable and a returning Jack Swagger to run roughshod over Smackdown LIVE. Bo Dallas could even drop his stupid name and reclaim his birthright as Taylor Rotunda, son of original Varsity Club member, Mike Rotunda.
prevnext3. Five Star - Cesaro, Gargano, Tommasso, Kassius Ohno, Cedric Alexander
The Professional Wrestlers. The Workrate. Whatever you want to call them, they would be bad ass. We start with Cesaro railing against having to wear a stupid, tear-off suit every week and pretend like he's James Bond. Cesaro states that he is tired of having to call himself a WWE Superstar when he is a professional wrestler; in fact, the best professional wrestler in the world. Cesaro then recruits three other NXT wrestlers to join him, Gargano and Ciampa and Cesaro's former ROH tag team partner, Kassius Ohno.
While the four supporting members would be used to boost up Cesaro to championship heights, they could recruit other cruiserweights and UK wrestlers like Pete Dunne who's only gimmick is being a total bad ass in the ring. Not having a gimmick would be their gimmick.
prevnext2. The Bullet Club - Finn Balor, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Enzo and Cass
First hurdle here is that the WWE has to purchase the naming rights from New Japan, but I'm fairly certain they could scrape together the money from Vince's couch cushions.
With Finn Balor as the leader, The Bullet Club could recapture all of the New Japan magic that would literally be new to most of the WWE Universe. As Enzo and Cass' act grows stale with the audience (you know it's happening), they would greatly benefit from joining a heel faction where they would only have to slightly alter their gimmicks.
This version of the Bullet Club would fill the DX, NWO role of the group you love to hate or hate to love.
prevnext1. The Bloodline - Roman Reigns, The Usos and Nia Jax.
Before the brand split, the WWE had started pulling the trigger on what is the most perfect solution for rebuilding Roman Reigns. Reigns had suddenly started teaming up with his real life family, The Usos as they battled the AJ Styles led Bullet Club. They even gave them the awesome name, The Bloodline, which plays off their heritage coming from the most famous family in wrestling history. The Bloodline's actual family tree includes legends such as The Rock, Yokozuna, The Wild Samoans and Rikishi.
Ever since the Usos dropped the face paint, they'v been allowed to shine as legit bad asses. Nia Jax would be the WWE's first woman enforcer since Chyna and no one could use a revamp more than Roman Reigns. If Roman was finally allowed to drop the Shield gear and let more of his personality seep into his promos, he could finally become the Heel the WWE Universe has been asking for. The heel turn would gain the respect of all the hardcore fans who have been booing him for years, which, ironically, would set up Reigns future face turn to become the mega hero Vince has always envisioned.
