With SummerSlam merely weeks away, WWE finds itself running at a torrid pace. Although RAW’s latest was just OK, the 3-hour show left us with plenty to talk about, but mostly Brock Lesnar.
Seeing that he rests atop the peak of WWE, everything he does has a trickle down effect on the rest of the rosters. If he leaves, people get a bump, if he stays, then that’s room for one less body in the main event.

Speaking of main events, how about that SmackDown “dream match” between John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura? In terms of free programming, wrestling doesn’t get better.
But with all the highs from this week like Jason Jordan blooming, the continuation of dynamite story with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, or the near perfect Breezango segment, there were some considerable lows.
Bayley looks badly hurt, and likely will be losing her SummerSlam title opportunity. For the sake of professional integrity, we cannot name her the Coldest Wrestler of the Week. However, we do have a pretty good idea who will be taking that dubious honor…
Coldest Wrestler of the Week
Enzoย Amore
Some choices are easier than others, and picking out who had the worst week in WWEย was all too simple.ย
Enzoย Amoreย had a punishingย 7 days. On RAW, Enzoย got a real taste of fan apathy as the Pittsburgh crowd seemed genuinelyย uninterested in his schtick. Typically, Enzo can fire up the live audience, but this week it felt like his time of being relevant was officiallyย put on notice. He can cut a great promo, but if he only jabbers to be flattened by Big Cass, then there’s just no reason to get behind him.
Even worse, Enzoย was buried by JBLย and Corey Graves as they spoke frankly on the WWEย Network show, Bring it to the Table. Enzo’s backstageย heat is no longer a locker room secret as it’s become public knowledge that Amoreย is disliked by his peers.
And if that wasn’t enough, we reported that Amoreย is facing a potential demotion. While “demotion” could mean 205 Live, it could also spell a return to NXT for Amore. Yikes.
Sorry Enzo, you’ve been buriedย under a social and professional iceberg. Best of luck. ย
Hottest Wrestler of the Week
Shinsukeย Nakamura
When you become the 14th man to pin John Cenaย cleanly in a decade, you’re automatically in consideration for Hottest Wrestler of the Week. But when you do it to punch your ticket for a WWE Championship Match at SummerSlam,ย that makes you a stone cold lock.
Shinsukeย Nakamuraย has arrived, ladies and gentleman.
Being John Cena’sย opponentย serves as one of WWE’sย best litmus tests for a talent. If they can hang with Cenaย and make the match feel special, then perhaps that’s a wrestler WWEย can build upon.ย
While it’s still very early in Nakamura’s WWE run, the company seems comfortable with the idea of pushing him to the top. After some tone-deaf booking of the King of Strong Style this spring, summer has proven to be much more fruitful for he and WWE.ย
Watch out WWEย Universe, a star could be in the making.ย
