Every now and then WWE will give us a match that hits us right in our feel spot. Sometimes the story’s emotions, the wrestler’s performance, and the perfect pitch of the crowd can be enough to make a grown man cry.

According to Triple H, 2015’s NXT Takeover match between Sasha Banks and Bayley was just that for Seth Rollins. The Game appeared on CBS Sports In This Corner podcast and told the story of an emotional Rollins after the women’s fantastic performance:

“[Rollins] came backstage and said he had dust in his eyes โ€” and it wasn’t dust, it was tears. He looked at me and said, ‘I’m going to be up all night trying to think how I surpass that. Oh my God. Like, I was totally relaxed about tomorrow and now I’m not going to sleep all night because I’m the main event on the main roster of SummerSlam and I’ve got to beat that.”

Here’s some hard evidence that Bayley and Banks got to The Kingslayer:

For those that haven’t seen this contest, it’s an absolute must-watch for any self-respecting wrestling fan. It marks the end of a long journey for Bayley who chased the NXT Women’s Champion for seemingly years. Sasha Banks was at her best as a ruthless heel and spent the match mangling Bayley’s hand.

In the end, Bayley would overcome the nefarious Banks and her mauled hand to win her first ever Championship in WWE. The crowd melted, as did Rollins.

The 2015 contest was the first time NXT Takeover came to Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center. The Brooklyn show returns for the third time this Sunday. The NXT Takeover show at Barclays has become so popular that Triple H himself believes they have become NXT’s version of WrestleMania.

For Rollins himself, he’ll have his own opportunity to make us cry this Sunday at Summerslam. He and Dean Ambrose have reunited after 3 years estrangement. The Shield brothers will take on Cesaro and Sheamus in hopes of winning the RAW Tag Team Championships.

Rollins and Ambrose’s reunion was teased for months, leading to a nearly unbearable amount of tension. When they agreed to join forces this past Monday, the crowd exploded. When they win on Sunday, Barclays roof may cave. So fans, don’t be ashamed of your tears, just let it happen.
