Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Team Up For Great Moment At Montreal House Show

The WWE SmackDown brand was north of the border this weekend for a show in Montreal, Quebec. Unexpectedly, the fans in attendance got a cool moment between two of their native Canadian sons, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Sami Zayn was receiving a beating at the hands of WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers when out ran Kevin Owens. The crowd went crazy as the two cleared the ring of the Singhs and Mahal. Just prior to taking out Mahal, Zayn and Owens teased that they might go after each other, but they took out Jinder together instead.

Eventually, Owens left and Zayn remained the last man standing in the ring.

Of course, Owens and Zayn are longtime friends and cut their teeth in the wrestling business by performing in and around Montreal. Seemingly every time they return to the area for WWE, they work up a little something special for the crowd. As you can see above, Owens even had a special t-shirt made for the Saturday event in Montreal.

The last time that WWE was in Montreal, back in March, Owens and Zayn went one on one during the main event. That night, Zayn cut a memorable promo after the bout talking about the duo's history in Montreal. It was such a heartfelt moment that it caused Kevin Owens to break down in tears.

Sami and Kevin are both originally from towns just outside of Montreal. They first wrestled each other in a singles match during an IWS (Internet Wrestling Syndicate) show in Montreal back in November of 2003.
