Lucha Underground Star Robbed At Gunpoint

Lucha Underground star, Penta El Zero M,fka Pentagon Jr., was robbed at gunpoint this morning in Mexico by three men wearing masks.

Damn the irony.

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Penta, was on his way to the airport to travel to Seattle for a DEFY Wrestling event when three masked men on motorcycles suddenly surrounded the vehicle.

PWSheet goes on to say that, "The men each pulled out guns and approached the vehicle … then took his wallet, keys, cellphone and backpack — containing his mask, gear and necessary paperwork needed to travel. We're told Penta pleaded with the thieves to let him keep the bag, but they ignored his request. Pentagon was not harmed or injured, so he attempted to travel without his passport afterward, but he was refused by officials in Mexico City."

Penta will be missing his wrestling show due to the robbery.

Independent wrestlers aren't the only ones suspect to being robbed while on the road.

In January, AJ Styles was robbed while at a house show in Arkansas. The WWE star reported the theft of a black bag containing several items of significant personal value, including his Xbox 360 setup (a small-screen TV, Beats headphones and six games), which he has had on the road with him for the last several years, along with an iPhone, $1,000 and 7,000 Japanese yen ($60.86).

WWE Superstar Paige was also a victim of a robbery when her wedding ring was stolen from her hotel room in May of this year.

A criminal was not so successful in December when he attempted to pull a gun on former WWE star, Shad Gaspard.

Florida a man attempted to out-crime one half of WWE's former Cryme Tyme tag team. Gaspard and his WWE Cryme Tyme tag partner JTG were stopping at a gas station after an independent wrestling event when a man pulled a gun (bb gun) on him. Shad quickly and ferociously slammed the man to the ground and held him until the cops could arrive.

Shad says he tried passing the gun off to the cashiers, but they didn't want it — and the guy started making his way to the door — so he slammed the man's head into the door, pulled him outside and got the robber into a rear naked choke hold. That's when JTG and co. saw what was happening and called the cops. Gaspard eventually immobilized him and began searching him for more weapons. At that point he re-assessed the initial weapon and realized it was nothing more than an air-soft gun.

"I thought it was a real gun the entire time and honestly, I just didn't want anyone to get hurt." Adding, "I just kept thinking about how I wanted to make sure I got home to my son."
