WWE’s Hottest and Coldest Wrestlers of the Week

What a wonderful week of WWE! The wrestling conglomerate washed it sins of a horrendous Battleground with a steamy edition of RAW and a profoundly good episode of SmackDown.

This week in wrestling was fueled by the march towards SummerSlam which itself has proved to be a fruitful breeding ground for stories.

We officially got our monstrous Fatal 4-Way, Dean and Seth are officially dancing partners, Jericho shocked the world, WWE booked a “dream match,” and AJ Styles regained his US Championship.

With so many wonderful happenings, picking the Hottest Wrestler of the Week proved to be an arduous task that nearly brought a tear to my eye. But I powered through and made a final decision.

The past 7 days have been so good that I almost forgot to look for the Coldest Wrestler of the Week. However, upon a few seconds of thorough reflection, I found him – buried under a mound of ice and polar bear feces:

In terms of Rusev’s career, John Cena might as well be Old Man Winter. Dating back to WrestleMania 31, It seems that Rusev just can’t help but to be swallowed by the 16x WWE Champion’s shadow. 

Cena and Rusev both made their return to SmackDown July 4th. Rusev was coming back from shoulder surgery and Cena from Hollywood things. Their ensuing feud was given no chance to be compelling as they were stuck in the ever-jingoistic flag match for Battleground.

Now just being on Battleground’s card could put you in the running for Coldest Wrestler of the Week, but a losing a snail’s paced Flag Match makes Rusev a top candidate. Even worse, Rusev solidified his frigidness by not appearing on the hottest episode of SmackDown to date.

Rusev is talented, exceptionally so. Let’s hope he never finds himself buried under a WWE iceberg again. 

Hottest Wrestler of the Week

This fractional Shield reunion has the WWE Universe abuzz. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins playing nice have fan salivating at the prospect of Roman Reigns joining the party, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. 

While Seth enjoyed a good week, that’s not who fans are intrigued by. Dean’s reluctance to trust Rollins is the story that people are hanging onto and it’s Ambrose who is center stage.

In his newfound significance, Ambrose pinned his arch nemeses cleanly in the middle of the ring to close RAW, effectively exorcizing his losing demons. He did it with some proverbial fire in his belly, too, showing fans a newer, more competitive side of him. 

Look for Ambrose to fight to hold onto his Hottest Wrestler of the Week title, as this storyline is going nowhere.
