Twitter has always found a way to fight about the important things, including how people choose to pronounce popular candy.
The argument about how to pronounce Reese’s cups has been going on for a long time. Many believe it should be pronounced as a possessive word, sounding like ree-cis, while some will continue to argue that it should be ree-sees.

If you take the side of the possessive pronunciation, you definitely have the upper-hand in an argument. Grammatically, saying it that way is 100% correct. However, the folks fighting for ree-cees are much more passionate, and they claim the odd pronunciation was a fun marketing strategy.

No matter how much logic is involved, people will still take things to the extreme. As one user points out, would you call actress Reese Witherspoon “Reesee”?
Yo I just saw the Reese’s debate and it’s pissing me off
Do you people call this actress “Ree-see Witherspoon” too??? pic.twitter.com/96EF8RCdWv

Sometimes, this debate gets a bit violent. Who knew people would get so worked up over how others talk about candy?
Pronounce it Reese’s pee-seas one more time. I dare you.

The official Reese’s Twitter account finally got involved, but it didn’t seem to help very much. The account just stated that there was “no wrong way to pronounce” the chocolate treats.
Just like there’s no wrong way to eat a REESE’S there’s no wrong way to pronounce REESE’S!

So, does that mean everyone is correct?
