Fans of MTV‘s Teen Mom are more than used to spin-offs of the original show.
Teen Mom 2 is almost as big as the OG version, and there was even a Teen Mom 3 show at one point. Furthermore, the show itself is a spin-off of 16 and Pregnant.

Now there’s a new version of Teen Mom hitting U.S. TV screens: Teen Mum. Also known as Teen Mom U.K., the series follows five young mothers as they navigate being a young mom across the pond.
Here’s everything you need to know about the new MTV reality series.
The Mums
There are five moms in the group, but there are only four on U.S. screens, presumably due to time constraints.
Mia Boardman
Boardman, 20, was still pregnant during some of the show’s filming, but she’s since given birth to Marliya. Her baby daddy is her boyfriend, Manley. One of the biggest points in their relationship is Manley’s relationship with his ex, who he has another child with.
Megan Salmon Ferrari
Ferrari, 18, has one son, Mckenzie, He was born in 2016 and his father is her ex-boyfriend, Dylan. The two had plans to get married, but it was revealed that Dylan had cheated on her with her best friend. However, the two got an unexpected surprise late last year, as they revealed they were having another child together. A baby girl, Dulcie-Mae, was born in April.

Naomi Konickova
Konickova is a fan-favorite on the series. She’s a 19-year-old makeup artist and mother to the 2-year-old-Kyanna. Her career aspirations are a big focal point of her storyline. These pursuits have effected her involvement with the show, as she’s taken a break from filming the series.
“I wanted to take a break from Teen Mom UK series two because I really feel like I need to focus on my career and really try to build a future for Kyanna,” she recently said.
Chloe Patton
Patton, 18, has one of the more stable relationships on the show with boyfriend Jordan. They have a son named Marley together, and they’re looking to settle down and find a home for them all to share. She’s also pretty firm about not have children for at least five years, so don’t look for their family to be expanding any time soon.
Amber Butler
While she’s not featured in the U.S. airing, Butler, 19, is still worth mentioning. She’s a single mom to her son Brooklyn. Her and her baby’s father, Ste, had a rough relationship in the first season. They fought a lot, mostly due to Ste wanting a romantic relationship but Butler wanting to keep things strictly parental.
U.S. Showings
While the show splashed down in the U.K. in late 2016, U.S. audiences are just now getting to see the first season’s events.
Since early July, MTV has been showing Teen Mum on Monday at 9 p.m. CT, right after Teen Mom 2.
It’s a part of a big push my the network to get the American audiences on board with the spin-off, as Teen Mom 3 never really took off a few years back.
Fan Response
The fan reaction to the show has been mixed.
If you head to the comment section of the U.S. Teen Mom Facebook page (which has been regularly promoting Teen Mum), you see a variety of response. Some like it, but many are too turned off by the English accents and are just ready for the OG cast to return.
“I can’t understand a word that they say,” wrote Tammy Casey. “This show can stay in London.”
“I loved Teen Mum!” wrote Doris Anderson. “You guys just hate whatever is unfamiliar.”
“I think it’s a good spin-off,” wrote Soondoos Rasheid. “Typically people assume that only Americans are having children at a young age, that Americans are trashy, that Americans are overweight, etc. However, this exposes that this is a worldwide epidemic.”
Season 2
If you’re digging Teen Mum, you’re in luck. The second season of the show is already airing in the U.K.
No word if it’ll be shown on U.S. televisions, but he fact that it’s already been produced is a promising start.
Even if the show doesn’t continue to air in the U.S., fans can still follow the various mothers on social media on both their personal channels and the show’s U.K. pages.
