Dev Patel has stepped up his game in the roles he’s taken over the past few years. From Slumdog Millionaire to The Best Marigold Hotel, he’s been making some good choices lately. And now, with what we can see from the Lion trailer, he might be continuing the streak, and with a lovable Australian accent no less.
Lion follows a young boy named Saroo who gets separated from his entire family while he’s just a boy. After having been adopted, he still feels it in himself that he must find his family, no matter the distance.

In what looks like a hard Oscar push from The Weinstein Company, Lion shows off its emotional backbone and sports a phenomenal supporting cast that features Nicole Kidman and Ronney Mara.
Lion opens up nationwide November 25th.
