The multi-talented Jennifer Lopez has agreed to take on double duties on NBC’s upcoming reality competition World of Dance. The 47-year-old singer/actress will be taking on both executive producer and judges duties.
When World of Dance was greenlit back in July, NBC gave a 10-episode order with Lopez attached solely as a producer. However, the Shades of Blue actress is now going to be seated in the judge’s chair in an on-camera role.

According to Variety, World of Dance will pit all kinds of dancers against each other. Individuals will battle against duos and crews in all genres of dance such as hip hop, popping, locking, krumping, tap, ballet, clogging, stomping, break dancing, and more. The winner will take home a grand prize of $1 million.
“I identify with the struggles, passion, discipline, competition and exhilaration of dance,” Lopez explained. “I am excited that with this show we can skyrocket a dancer’s career and help guide them to success.”
President of Universal Television Alternative Studio, Meredith Ahr said, “This show centers on the need to celebrate and reward the art and athleticism of the dance community and there is no one more passionate about that then Jennifer.” Ahr added regarding Jennifer Lopez, “Her role at the judges’ table takes our joint ambitions to the next level, and we can’t wait to get started.”
Choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha D-umo, best known as Nappytabs, will also be featured on the series. The duo has been collaborating with Lopez for years, and even choreographed her Las Vegas show “All I Have.”
Alongside Lopez, the other executive producers on World of Dance will include Al Hassas, Matthew Everitt, David Gonzalez, Matilda Zoltowski, Kris Curry, Benny Medina, and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.
