Gene Simmons grew emotional while speaking on the impact of Ozzy Osbourne’s career. The rock legend died at the age of 71, leaving behind his longtime wife, Sharon, and three adult children.
“You can say whatever you want about Ozzy,” the KISS member began in an emotional interview. “There never was an Ozzy before Ozzy.”

He continued saying that Ozzy was a one in a million type of artist. “You can’t really point to anyone and say, ‘Oh my God, that’s where that came from.’ Scientists call that an anomaly. He was born Ozzy,” he said. “And as far as I know, his entire life, what I know to be true, the Greeks say, Ozzy was always Ozzy. Through discos, through whatever musical genre there was out there, Ozzy was always Ozzy. All the way to the end. Here we are talking about it, but I’ll tell you that the eulogy about Ozzy should come from the fans. Because this was a soundtrack of their lives.”
He said those who are suffering the most outside of his family are his fans. “And I almost don’t even have the right to talk about it because the real emotion and the real loss, comes from people whose entire lives was affected by Ozzy and Black Sabbath. And there will never be another like him. I have played the game just to be more popular and more this, Ozzy never played the game. He was always 100% Ozzy.”
The rock star continued, “He was a giant. And Ozzy may be gone, but right now there are millions of fans around the world who are turning off their TikToks and all that stuff shutting the door and they’re putting on their Sabbath albums. The most devastating has got to be for the family. My heart goes out to them.”
