According to The New York Times, sources close to the matter have confirmed Craig’s return to the franchise, squashing all rumors that a new replacement could be on the way.
The studios announced on Monday that the 25th 007 movie would be hitting theaters on November 8, 2019. This was followed by the reveal that writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade – who penned the scripts for the last six Bond films – would be putting together the screenplay for the upcoming film.
Christopher Nolan Would ‘Definitely’ Direct a James Bond Film
What isn’t a sure thing however, is who will be behind the camera for the next installment in the franchise. Legendary director Christopher Nolan has expressed interest in helming a Bond film, but there is no word on how advanced talks with him have become.
Fans will be happy to see Craig return to the role, despite the fact that he has spoken out publicly against reprising it. The actor has been highly-celebrated for his action-packed depiction of James Bond since 2006.
