The Fast and the Furious franchise is enjoying its growing success, as the eighth film in the franchise, Fate of the Furious ended its theatrical run earlier this year with $1.2 billion in box office returns. The franchise is now set to expand into a whole cinematic universe – starting with a spinoff starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham.
However, feuding has been a big part of Fate of the Furious‘ behind-the-scenes story, with franchise star Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson having a very public falling out during production. More recently, franchise star Michelle Rodriguez was in the big red spotlight of “controversy,” after one of her social media posts suggest that the Fast and the Furious filmmakers weren’t showing enough attention and value to their female stars.

“Give Her Your Money…”
Speaking on WWHL, Theronย said the following about Michelle Rodriguez’s claims of gender inequality in theย Fast and the Furiousย franchise:ย
“Yeah, I mean, I feel it’s super valid. This is somebody who has been with this franchise for a really long time. And I can personally say I am a fan of the franchise because of her. She’s incredible. She’s incredible. And she’s the heart of that whole franchise.”
Theronย later joked that Vinย Diesel should pony up the cash to pay Rodriguez, stating, “Vin, give her your money.”
Afterย Wonder Womanย has become the most successful film of summer 2017, and one of the biggest superhero films in years, the case for female stars (and directors) being of equal value to their male counterparts is practically indisputable. And yet, the debate seems to continue…
Feud Resolution
