Fans of the ’90s Steven Spielberg film about an adult Peter Pan and the Lost Boys can take yet another trip to the world of Neverland in a brand new, fan-made prequel film starring one of the most beloved characters from the movie. Watch it now!

After a successful crowdfunding campaign, a short movie focused on Rufio set in the world of Spielberg’s Hook has finally released to the public. Original Rufio actor Dante Basco helped with the production, boosting the crowdfunding efforts and serving as a producer on the short.

Now fans can watch Bangarang: The Hook Prequel right now, learning just how the temporary leader of the Lost Boys made his way to Neverland.

The film โ€” directed by Jonah Feingold, co-written by Feingold and Jeremy Mittlemen โ€” is loaded with tons of easter eggs and references to the original film, and employs many of the same themes of present in both Hook and J.M. Barrie’s original novel.

โ€จBangarang has some high production values, utilizing the $68,000 they made in their Kickstarter campagin. Basco also makes an appearance as Principal Cullen, who gives young Roofus a copy of the novel Peter Pan which kicks off his eventual journey toward Neverland.

Check out the film above. It’s well worth the 12-minute runtime, and even has a nice mid-credits stinger that all the kids are raving about these days. We’re unlikely to get a Hook sequel, but this fan film hits all the right notes.
