Listen up Readers — if you purchased tickets from Ticketmaster between October 21, 1999 and February 27, 2013, you might have some free tickets waiting for you!
The company recently settled a class-action lawsuit for $400 million, and the payout could affect around 50 million people. Customers who purchased tickets during the specified period are now being given vouchers for free tickets to select events as well as discounts, which users can find by going to their account and clicking "Active Vouchers."
Ticketmaster also sent an email to customers with the subject line "Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster Class Action Settlement – Notice Regarding Discount and Ticket Codes," Vulture reports. The lawsuit claimed that Ticketmaster had been overcharging consumers for tickets for years, and described the site's fees as "deceptive and excessive."
Although the selected events users can use their vouchers on is currently unavailable, there might be something happening in your area you can and want to use your free tickets on. So what are you waiting for, Womanistas — head over to your account right now to see if you have any tickets waiting!
