'Beauty and the Beast' Photos Released Featuring Both Belle and the Beast

Not only Disney fans, but Emma Watson fans have been waiting patiently for any news from the upcoming live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. Though the film won't hit theaters until March, 2017, two new stills were released that finally show the two titular characters together.

The two new still photos have been making their way around the internet. The first is a photo of Watson as Belle, two leather bound books in her hand. Belle surrounded by books is exactly what people have been waiting to see ever since Watson was cast in the part – it's a bit of a harken back to her days as Hermione in the Harry Potter series. It's clear this scene takes place at the town bookshop, though, perhaps this is a snap from the classic library scene.

The second photo is much more exciting as it is the first time fans will get to see both Belle and the Beast together. Dan Stevens plays the Beast in this new adaptation, though his character is actually made from CGI for most of the film – given we will probably see the prince in his human form at the end and possibly the beginning of the film.

This particular still of the two has been getting a lot of criticism since its release. Many true fans of the story think that Steven's Beast still looks unpolished, especially compared to the many VFX effects in the other live-action Disney films. The movie is currently in post-production, so there is still time for things to get cleaned up before the official trailer hits the web.

Beauty and the Beast is only one of the many recent live-action films that Disney has remade recently. This trend of spellbinding, live-action, CGI filled Disney fantasy all started with the success of Maleficent and Alice in Wonderland. Since then, Disney has also released, Through the Looking Glass, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book. There are rumors that they also plan to remake Dumbo, 101 Dalmatians, and The Lion King, though no official release announcements have been made.
