Former Bachelorette contestant Jillian Harris swears by the new placenta pill fad that many new moms are embracing because she says it has given her newfound energy during the tough first weeks of motherhood.
"I was crying every day the first week," the 36-year-old told PEOPLE.
The HGTV star welcomed her first child, Leo, with boyfriend Justin Pasutto, on August 5.
"I was trying to give everybody all my love and I felt like it wasn't possible," she recalled.
Feeling drained, she decided to try the placenta encapsulation process she'd heard about.
"I have nothing to compare it to, but I've had so much energy," the new mom shared. "I haven't had any major breakdowns and I've been feeling really good."
With help from the pills she is able to appreciate her time with her little one even more.
"I still can't believe I'm his mom," Harris shared. "There's a part of me that just feels so grounded now. I'm so happy."
