Disney World is known as the most magical place on Earth, and 12-year-old Janielle Gilmour and 10-year-old Elijah Gilmour learned that in the most amazing way recently when Mickey Mouse helped surprise them with the news that their foster parents, Courtney Gilmour and Tom Gilmour, wanted to adopt them.

In a video posted to Courtney's Facebook page, the kids can be seen heading to a meet and greet with Mickey. Unbeknownst to them, Courtney and Tom had recently finalized their adoption papers, and after a silly card trick, Mickey presented the kids with a sign with the date on it that read "Adoption Day."

The kids immediately teared up before being comforted by Mickey and their parents.

"They were beyond shocked and we were beyond emotional," Courtney wrote in the video's caption.

Courtney told E! News that when the family arrived at Disney World, they were given buttons to write down the reason they were celebrating.

"When we got down there we sent out pictures on Twitter of our buttons," she explained. "Ours said, 'Adopting Our Kids.' Theirs said, 'Getting Adopted.' The people from Disney World's Twitter reached out to us and asked, 'How can we help make this extra special?'"

The surprise went off without a hitch, and Courtney shared that she's been amazed by the response to the now-viral video.

"The response has been awesome and overwhelming," she said. "I was just sharing it to share it but it's taken on a life of its own."

Courtney added, "It's put foster care in a positive light that doesn't always get shone."
