Gabrielle Union: does she ever age? Somehow, the star is still the spitting image of her roles in the 90s. A quick look at her Instagram, however, shows that this lady is not about denying herself when it comes to delicious foods. So how does she stay in such great shape?

Drink more water…like, a lot more.
As she told US Weekly, “The biggest thing that changed my life, the best anti-aging secret weapon, is that in my mid-thirties I started drinking a gallon of water a day. It’s made a tremendous difference with my hair, skin, and nails.”
We were skeptical, but she says the results were noticeable: “Everyone is always like, ‘What did you do differently than everyone else? Why are you aging so slow?’ It’s something that everyone has access to and it not only helps with your beauty, it also helps with your fitness and digestion.”
Get your greens, and every other color, too.
“Try to make your plate like a rainbow,” the star advised during a segment with Us Weekly, explaining that she tried to incorporate foods of all colors to get a healthier cross-section of what’s available. Her suggestions? Sweet potato or yams, and yellow peppers.
Go lean to get lean.
Union also mentioned that she looks for “leaner cuts of meat” when making meals, often relying on fish as a source of protein. While this tip may be a classic, it also brings up another good pointโcooking at home allows you to have so much more control over what you’re ingesting, from the amount of fat in the meat to the way you’ve prepared your meal. It’s a no-brainerย that more control can often mean better eating.ย
But don’t be afraid to indulge.
Union may care a lot about her health, but she doesn’t let it get in the way of living her life. As she toldย Fitnessย Magazine,ย “If I want cupcakes, cookies, or a short stack, I don’t deny myself. And I certainly don’t deny myself bacon! But I just stay active, and not let it get too out-of-control.”
It makes sense that the super-active star would want to reward herself from time to time; otherwise, what areย all those days at the gymย for?! We love her attitude of moderation and self-acceptance.
