'Bill Nye Saves The World' Brings Our Favorite Scientist To Netflix

Bill Nye is coming back to TV! Everybody, rejoice! Thanks to Netflix, Nye will have a talk show called Bill Nye Saves the World.

The talk show will focus on current topics, but from a scientific view that Nye will tackle head on. Here's the official synopsis from Netflix:

Each episode will tackle a topic from a scientific point of view, dispelling myths, and refuting anti-scientific claims that may be espoused by politicians, religious leaders or titans of industry.

We all remember the bow-tie-wearing scientist's old show Bill Nye the Science Guy where he would take on various science experiments in a wacky way to help get a younger audience to not only understand science, but enjoy it. In a statement Nye made, he still seems to have that philosophy:

Since the start of the Science Guy show, I've been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science. Today, I'm excited to be working with Netflix on a new show, where we'll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods and climate change. With the right science and good writing, we'll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we'll change the world a little.

There's no doubt that Netflix is upping its content game even more. They have mastered the original series lane and are now tossing their hats into the ring of talk shows. Nye's new show will be a firm building block in this formation, as it will be aimed at tackling today's big issues while letting Nye express himself fully on the subject matter.

Bill Nye Saves the World is set to premiere in Spring 2017.
