After taking a month away from the social media spotlight, McKayla Maroney is back at it posting a handful of new snapshots. On Thursday, the former Olympic gymnast took to Instagram to treat her 1.6 million followers to several revealing snaps.
In her latest post, the 21-year-old aspiring pop singer shared a gallery of pictures with the caption, “yours truly.”

The images show Maroney sporting an unbuttoned pajama shirt with a bikini top. She completed the look with ripped jeans and let her long brunette locks flow freely over her shoulders.
Maroney, who rose to fame at the 2012 Olympics for her on-the-podium facial expression, shared in a previous post why she chose to step away from social media for a brief period.
“So i just recently got into a pretty intense car accident w a couple friends in la, and it seriously got me thinking how quick ur life can be taken from u. so many of us waste time doing thing sout of habit, instead of pure passion…obviously u have to work hard to get where u wana be, but i hope one day everyone can just get to a point where they only do what they love,” she captioned a post.
“With that being said, social media gets pretty heavy on me sometimes, and that’s why i disappear a lot. it’s purely for my own sanity, and happiness. i also have been busy (doing what i DO love) writing/making music, and i thought i’d rather give u guys dope music, than have a lit instagram,” she added.
While it’s clear that Maroney’s followers enjoy keeping up with her on social media, it is yet to be determined whether her music career will be met with the same level of enthusiasm as fans are still waiting to hear what she’s been working on.
