As a man paid to keep people talking, Dr. Phil sure knows how to protect his own secrets.

The 66-year-old talk-show host hurt several ribs, dislocated a shoulder, and was laid up in bed for weeks following an extreme sports accident, according to his rep. A source told InTouchWeekly that the dirt bike accident was so serious that it shut down production of his show for around a week.

“In late February during some time off, Dr. Phil, practicing a dirt bike trick with some of his Hollywood stuntman friends, landed awkwardly and dislocated his shoulder and dinged up a few ribs,” the spokesman revealed. “Although it was painful for a while, it did not stop him from taping all 18 shows scheduled for March. In fact, he actually taped a half-dozen extra shows and still wrapped the season before month’s end, as planned.

“Dr. Phil said his buddies were ‘ribbing’ him, ‘Wheels first, Doc, wheels first!’ Fortunately, things are back to normal.”

The incident was well kept from the media but inside the production house, apparently, it was well known.

“The secrecy around the crash was so intense that it was billed as ‘motorcyclegate’ by his staffers,” the source said.

Dr. Phil McGraw began his television career as a resident expert on human behaviour on the Oprah Winfrey Show but has now aired over 150 of his self-titled programming.

Recently he catapulted the career of the “Cash Me Ousside” girl, Danielle Bregoli, into a now-psuedo famous commodity after threatening the audience of Dr. Phil.

A recent festival in Miami (FL) that featured the likes of Hip Hop artist Kendrick Lamar, Future, Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, young Thug, Mac Miller and Run The Jewels saw people standing in line — in the Miami humidity — to get a photo with her.

Besides being paid an obscene amount of money for the appearance, the festival also agreed to throw Bregoli an amazing birthday bash when she turns 14-years-old in March.

The owner of the company throwing the festival told TMZ the girl will also get a cut of the ticket sales.

Danielle’s reps confirm that $30k is the minimum amount for an appearances in the U.S. and $40k if she has to leave the country.

Apparently a NYC bar offered Bregoli $5k and she and her team just laughed and passed.

As for Dr. Phil’s health, apparently everything is back to normal.
