Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park Reunite Amid ‘Hawaii Five-O’ Controversy

Former Hawaii Five-0 stars Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park have reunited in the wake of their departures from the CBS drama, with Kim sharing a photo of the pair together on Instagram Wednesday.

In the snap, the pair smile side by side as they stand in front of a gorgeous lake and mountain range.

“#Cousins #reunited,” the actor wrote. “Until next time, #Vancouver!”

On the show, the pair portrayed Five-0 task force members Kono Kalakaua (Park) and Chin Ho Kelly (Kim), who were also cousins. The actors recently left the show after being cast members since the series’ premiere, and it has been reported that the duo left after failing to achieve salary parity with their Caucasian co-stars.

CBS recently addressed the controversy, with CBS chief Kelly Kahl telling the press Tuesday at the Television Critics Association’s press tour that the network “loved” both Kim and Park and “did not want to lose them.”

“We made very, very strong attempts to keep them and offered them a lot of money to stick around,” she said, via Entertainment Weekly. “We tried our darnedest to keep them… We never like to lose characters that the audience loves off long-running shows. It’s the nature of the business. We made very lucrative offers to those actors.”
