When YOMYOMF posted a story about how CBS top executives revealed the two stars, Kim and Park, were given "lots of money to stick around," Pompeo took to Twitter to reply, "Who have ALL been at the forefront of inclusion and equality and led the charge that is the change we are seeing..."

Following the message, she retweeted the article with a comment, writing, "This actually has NOT happened on [Grey's Anatomy]. [Shonda Rhimes] would never allow it nor would [ABC Studios] and [ABC Network]."

However, a fan by the name of Adri wrote to her, "I think the article was referring to veteran actors leaving, which happens a lot on Grey's."

Pompeo responded, "Yes but I'm just clarifying...no veteran actors left Greys because of pay disparity or equity issues."

While CBS has received much backlash from the Kim and Park departure, Grey's Anatomy is in the clear when it comes to such drama. Every season, the show has been through obstacles, with beloved characters going in and out, but never due to pay disparities as Pompeo revealed and fought back, defending showrunner, Shonda Rhimes.

One of the more intense departures stemming from the ABC drama might have been from actor, Isaiah Washington, who "was not asked to return" after using a homophobic slur in reference to former co-star, T.R. Knight.
