โ€œWe are completely devastated and heartbroken,โ€ his family said. โ€œIn his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth. We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Aceโ€™s memory will continue to live on forever!โ€

At the very end of last month, Frehley fell down in the studio while recording new music. He ended up needing to be hospitalized for the fall, and reports from his agents and friends said he was “fine.” Unfortunately, he never recovered.

Frehley had a tour planned that was supposed to be going on for the rest of the year, but it was cancelled due to his medical issues.

“Dear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital. He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time,โ€ his tour manager said. โ€œAs a result, he is forced to cancel his performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California on Friday, September 26th.โ€

He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with his KISS bandmates in 2014.

Frehley is survived by his wife, his brother, his daughter, and his four nieces and nephews.
