Rockstar Hayley Williams, the lead singer of Paramore, and her husband announced they were divorcing in a joint statement release on Saturday.
Williams married Chad Gilbert, a member of pop punk band New Found Glory, in February 2016. However, the two had been a couple, as they wrote in the note, “for the better part of 10 years.”

“We also feel it’s important to state that we are going to be okay and in fact, we remain close friends who are good in each other’s eyes.”
The musicians didn’t go into detail on what caused their relationship to break down, but it may have been their jump into marriage.
“There is a challenge in trying to understand your own heart in the context of a relationship… and there is goodness in considering another heart, even is spite of your own. Marriage is not for the faint of heart. Love is an absolute risk. And it’s up to each of us to stay hopeful even when the outcome isn’t what we originally hoped for.”
