Lindsay Lohan is opening up about her troubled relationship with her fiancé Egor Tarabasov.

In a recent interview with Mail on Sunday, the actress claimed that there has been abuse in her relationship with Egor and that their relationship may be over.

“The truth is, I wanted to make things work, but now I’m not sure that I can,” Lohan, 30, said.

This is the first time she has publicly spoken about her relationship and it comes days after footage was posted online of the two in a physical altercation last week.

The video shows Lohan throwing a phone out of their car and the Russian business mogul stopping the vehicle and getting out to retrieve the phone. The Mean Girls actress got out of car to get the phone as well, but Tarabasov aggressively stopped her and twisted her arm behind her back.

Lohan spoke about the incident and said: “Egor drank too much and he went crazy.”

However, that wasn’t the only incident they had. Just two weeks before, the couple was fighting in their London home when cops showed up. In a video taken by a neighbor, the actress was screaming, “Please, please. He just strangled me. He almost killed me.”

She said that prior to the fight, the pair went on a date.

“When we got home I went to bed and Egor went out,” she said. “A few hours later he came back and when I woke up he was standing over me. He wasn’t himself, he was being very aggressive and he attacked me.

The actress said that this isn’t the first time abuse had occurred in their relationship.

“It’s not the first time,” Lohan said. “That’s the problem. But this time, someone saw.”

“I realize now you can’t stay in a relationship just for love,” Lohan said. “No woman can be hit and stay with that person if that person isn’t prepared to say sorry.”

Although it seems like there is no helping this relationship and it might be over, Lohan still reached out to her fiancé to talk.

“I need closure,” she said. “I genuinely fell in love with him but he broke my trust and made me feel unsafe.”

“I know I’m not an angel but I’ve tried to fix things. It’s down to him now. I had suggested we go for couples’ counseling but there comes a time when I have to put myself first, my family, and also think about my career which I’ve worked so hard for. I also don’t want to let my fans down by not being the strong woman I have become.”
