Brie Bella Says Daniel Bryan Will Wrestle Again

Daniel Bryan may not have WWE’s permission to return to wrestling, but he certainly has his wife’s blessing.

In an interview with From The Top Rope, Brie Bella discussed her husband’s future in wrestling. Most importantly, she conveyed absolute support for the idea of Daniel Bryan competing once again:

“…I told Bryan, ‘You do have a daughter, so always remember that. But if the doctors finally give you the green light,’ I go, ‘Go! This is your dream and passion. You have one life to live and I will never hold you back.”

Brie was explicit in saying that if WWE won’t have him, he should search for new wrestling home:

“Because I love to wrestle, and I would hate if someone told me you can’t do it. And if WWE doesn’t allow it, then I said, ‘Go somewhere else. It’s all on you.’ Obviously, he would love to be able to get back in that WWE ring, but I know for a fact my husband is going to find his way back to the ring. He honestly is.”

Brie also went into detail about Bryan’s relentless pursuit of testing and cutting edge technology to help his case. According to Brie, Daniel has been effectively using a hyperbaric oxygen tank that doctors have utilized dozens of cerebral disorders.

It’s hard to confuse Brie Bella’s words. While Daniel Bryan himself hasn’t announced a comeback, he’s been far from shy about returning to in-ring action. The biggest question still looms, where would he?

Unfortunately, it sounds like he can rule out the second best (monetary) option, New Japan Wrestling. On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer asserted that NWJP has the same strict protocol against concussion based injuries:

“If you have a concussion [in New Japan] it’s the same thing: they keep you out, there are no questions asked, and they don’t put you back in until you pass the testing. Now, do they have the same stuff as they do here? Our stuff, we use the stuff that Joseph Maroon did with the impact testing, and whatever they do [in Japan] is probably the same. But when guys have concussions in Japan they’re usually out for a while.”

While this isn’t great news, it’s not a career killer. There are multiple independent promotions who would love to have Bryan. However, if Bryan continues to heal as Brie mentioned then maybe larger promotions like WWE may consider bringing him back home.

The message here is that Daniel and Brie are both set on his comeback happening. Barring medical intervention, it sounds like we will see Daniel Bryan wrestle again.
