Here’s How ‘American Horror Story: Cult’ Could Connect to ‘Roanoke’

American Horror Story fans go wild over the possible connections between each season of the anthology series. It’s already been revealed that season seven, Cult, will feature Twisty the Clown from Freak Show, but there could be a possible Roanoke connection brewing.

In one of the script snippets released on the official AHS site, a cannibalistic scene is taking place. The only other time cannibalism has been brought into the AHS universe is through Roanoke‘s Polk family. This could lead to some sort of reference or familial connection between the parties in the scene and the Polks.

The detailed Cult scene, which can be read below, takes place at a dinner of some sort. The prepared dish in front of him or her features severed pinky fingers. The subject is shocked and knocks over a glass of wine as they cover the plate.

While that’s not much to go on, it appears whoever prepared that meal has some cannibalistic tendencies.

It is pretty unlikely it is any of the Polks we met in season six, as they all died. However, it is not hard to imagine a distant relative of the family being present in Cult and having a similar, homicidal habit.

Alternatively, there could always just be an off-hand reference to the cannibals surrounding this scene. The Polks were featured on the in-universe show My Roanoke Nightmare, which apparently was a widespread sensation. They could simply be a cultural reference the cannibal is compared to.

American Horror Story: Cult premieres Sept. 5 on FX at 10 p.m. ET.
