Kelsea Ballerini announced last week that her highly-anticipated sophomore album, Unapologetically, will officially be released on Nov. 3, but unfortunately for fans, not much else has been revealed about the country star’s latest effort, although she has been dropping hints for months.
The singer told Billboard that the album will detail a previous breakup and her current relationship with now-fiancรฉe Morgan Evans.

“It’s totally capturing the last two years of my life, which involved both a big breakup and a lot of pure growing up,” Ballerini explained. “Then I found the best guy in the whole world [her beau, Australian singer-songwriter Morgan Evans]. I feel like it’s just going to tell the story in that order.”

During the interview, the Tennessee native also noted that her album will “absolutely” be country, despite her pop-influenced sound.
“In my album, you can hear that that’s my version of country,” she said of her debut album, The First Time, which dropped in 2015 and included No. 1 hits “Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Dibs” and “Peter Pan.”
Forest Glen Whitehead, one of the executive producers of The First Time, plays an integral role on Unapologetically, and the project also features major country songwriters Hillary Lindsey, Shane McAnally, Ross Copperman, Josh Osbourne and Luke Laird.

While the 23-year-old hasn’t yet shared the tracklist for her latest effort, she has released her first single from the album, “Legends,” as well as its accompanying music video. She has also played several new songs during live shows, including confirmed album track “Roses,” as well as possible title track “Unapologetically.”
The Tennessean reports Ballerini as saying that she wrote over 200 songs for the project.
“I really wanted a laser focus of what this record was,” she said. “When I was listening to everything, the last two years has literally been jam-packed, like a lifetime in two years. I went through this growing-up period โฆ just learning a lot about who I am and who I want to be.”
