Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington was found dead Thursday morning in his California home as a result of a reported suicide, and new details are now emerging in the musician’s tragic passing.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Bennington’s death was reported as a suicide by hanging, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. The final cause of death is pending following an autopsy.

There was no evidence of drugs at the scene, but a partially empty bottle of alcohol was reportedly discovered in the room. Bennington had struggled with drug and alcohol abuse at various points throughout his life.
