Garth Brooks has performed for just about everyone and just about everywhere, however, his performance this past week is sure to stand out above all others.

Fisher explained that he used Garth's "The River" in his pre-launch playlist for his first-ever space flight which brought a few tears to Brooks' eyes. Fisher continued, I think you have so many great songs and so many great messages, but it's the heart that you put in every performance and the soul that you put into all those songs that make them so impactful. 'The River' in particular was pretty much my anthem for almost the last three decades, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such an inspiration for so many and making those words count."

As if being able to talk to Brooks and Yearwood were not enough, a bigger surprise arrived for Fisher when his wife and daughter surprised him at Mission Control. After they arrived, Brooks then serenaded everyone with an acoustic version of that song that has meant so much to Fisher and brought the group together, "The River."

Brooks was clearly over-the-moon about his time spent with the astronauts that he tweeted about the experience to his fans. "Could this be the longest distance selfie EVER? HA!!!! @Astro2fish @AstroPeggy @NASA THANK YOU!!! love, g & T#GARTHatNASA."
