Vader Says He Was Rejected by Diamond Dallas Page

Diamond Dallas Page has been a savior for many former wrestlers in need of a lifestyle change. As seen in the film, The Resurrection of Jake The Snake, DDP’s Yoga program and “accountability crib” center were instrumental in helping Jake the Snake Roberts, Scott Hall and many others turn their lives around. Yet, one former star is taking to Twitter claiming that DDP turned his back on him.

Today on Twitter, Leon White, better known as Big Van Vader, is claiming that he was turned down by DDP due to his refusal to quit wrestling. Vader said, “This bull shit DDP turned me down by saying had to quit wrestling or I wasn’t welcome at his training center.”

Vader has been dealing with serious health issues over the past year, even claiming last November that he was entering his final days.

In a recent interview with Raj Giri, DDP admitted that he had to show tough love, saying he couldn’t help Vader unless he was willing to let his body heal.

“I can’t heal you with the program if you’re constantly continuing to beat up your body wrestling, the program wouldn’t have helped Jake [Roberts] or anyone else,” Page said.

“I worked with Leon and he’s really beat up from all the years of football and wrestling. My initials aren’t JC, they’re DDP. Everyone at any age needs time to heal, especially at 61, that’s just common sense. Anybody who knows me at all knows I would never turn anyone down to work with them at my PC, especially one of the boys. Leon just needs to return my call,” he added.

Clearly frustrated, Vader continued his twitter tirade against DDP.

DDP’s tough love stance is not surprising. He knows exactly what it takes for someone to turn their life around. Considering Vader told The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast in March that he wanted to “die in the ring,” DDP knows wrestling can’t be a part of the equation.

“Someone said, ‘Aren’t you afraid? Why would you get a booking (to wrestle) at this point when you’ve had this type of diagnosis?’ I said, ‘Brother, where would you rather die in a bed at home, or in the hospital, or would you rather die in front of 10,000 people having fun in the ring?”

“…that’s my choice, and that’s the way I decide to go out. If this thing’s gonna happen, I’d rather be in a ring, anywhere, compared to sitting in a hospital room in a hospital bed, sitting there like some sheep getting ready to be slaughtered. It’s not who I am, and it’s not the way it’s gonna happen with me.”
