It’s nearly time for the WWE to release their inductees for the 2017 Hall of Fame. While it has yet to be confirmed, we’ve already had the names of the first two inductees released in Diamond Dallas Page and Rick Rude.
Today, several other names of the 2017 class that are up for consideration have been leaked thanks to Wrestling Observer‘s Dave Meltzer. They include a tag team, two stars who are still very involved in the action and a star from the rock n wrestling era. While nothing is set in stone, Meltzer is not one to speak of that which he does not know.

William Regal
While never quite as big of a star as he was probably should have been, William Regal has oftenย been the answer for manyย wrestler’s favorite wrestler. His influence on the business far surpasses his in ring accomplishments, of which there were still many.
One of the most technichally gifted superstars to ever step inside the ring, Regal had a 30 year career that included four WCW World Television Championships, five WWEย Hardcore Championships, four WWE European Championships, two WWE Intercontinental Championships, four World Tag Team Championships and one King of the Ring victory.ย
Regal has also had memorable runsย as an announcer, RAW general manager and most recently, the main authority figure on NXT.ย

Christian
Does Christian feel like a Hall of Famer to me? Well, no, not really, but his career statsย flat out reek of awesomeness.ย Christian is a nine time WWF Tag Team Champion, two time World Champion, two time ECW World Champion, Four Time Intercontinental Champion, one time Hardcore Champion, one time European Champion, one time Lightweight Champion, and the twenty third Grand Slam Champion in WWE history. Those are Hall worthy numbers by anyone’s standards.ย

The Natural Disasters
YES! One of my all-time favorite tag teams! The Natural Disasters were only together for a few years, but they stood out for their significant, well, … girth, and their aptly titled gimmick. There was a time when hefty wrestlers were a feared commodity in the WWE and these two behemoths fit the bill perfectly; winning the tag team championships one time in their brief run together. Sadly, John Tenta (Earthquake) is no longer with us, but I would love to see Fred Ottman be inducted into the hall as Typhoon. Especially considering he’s infamous for having two of the worst gimmicks in wrestling history; Tugboat and the Shockmaster.ย
Irwin R Schyster
Not only is Mike Rotunda the most famous wrestling tax attorney in WWE history, but he is the father of both Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt. Rotunda first hit it big teaming with Barry Wyndham in the early 80s as the US Express. The duo would win two WWF Tag Team Championships together. In the NWA, Mike had success as a member of the vastly underrated Varsity Club faction, winning another tag team championship with Dr. Death Steve Williams. He then formed his Michael Wallstreet persona, which was based off Michael Douglas’ character in the 1987 movie, Wallstreet.ย
Rotunda would then go on to his most famous role in the WWE as Irwin R Schyster (IRS, how clever), teaming with The Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase to form Money Inc. The duo would win the WWF Tag Team Championships three times.ย
