Before Brock Lesnar made one of his rare RAW appearances, his mouthpiece Paul Heyman told the WWE audience that this was the moment we should DVR, that this was the moment that we'd be talking about tomorrow.
He was right. Just not in the way he likely imagined.
Lesnar stormed onto the ramp and got a warm reception from the LA crowd. Before he could hit his signature poses, a wild Samoan was upon him.
Samoa Joe pounced on Lesnar and immediately strapped on the Coquina Clutch. Lesnar did his best to power out of the gruesome chokehold by running Joe in a video board several times. The LED board suffered more damage than Joe.
Undeterred by Lesnar's defense, Joe began to squeeze. In just a few seconds, Lesnar's face went from pink to purple. Before Joe could actually kill him, help from backstage came to pry Joe's death-grip off of The Beast's throat.
This Joe/Lesnar feud is better than most believed it could have been. Joe's Coquina Clutch is being treated like a weapon of mass destruction as he continues to get the upper hand on Lesnar in these RAW encounters.
Their last brawl has collected over 7 million views on YouTube in 2 weeks. If you don't like this feud, just know that everyone else does.
With Joe getting so much momentum, does he actually stand a chance at Great Balls of Fire? At this point, we can't rule out anything. If we had to guess, this looks like WWE is building Joe so fiercely that even if he loses to Lesnar he'll still have enough steam to carry his next feud.
Regardless, this is fun. We'll likely get one more showdown next week before the Great Balls mega match.
