Once upon a time, Chris Jericho claimed that Enzo Amore would be perfect for 205 Live. It only took a few month's for Y2J's prophecy to manifest as Amore officially became a Cruiserweight last week. So now that he's there, what's next?
Well, by all indications it looks like Amore will be getting involved with Cruiserweight Champion, Neville. However, Jericho being the prophet that he is, already coached up Neville on how to get the best from the physically limited Amore. In an interview with Busted Open Radio, Y2J shared the scouting report:
"I told Neville this months ago, I said, 'There's gonna come a time when you're gonna have to make him look good, that's the job of guys like you and me. It doesn't matter if he's good. That's not his responsibility, that's yours now.' Neville's gonna have to do anything he can to make that match work the same way that all the great workers in time do that."
This is the great insight into wrestler's relationships and their awareness of their profession. The easy thing to do would be for Neville to look at working with Enzo as a curse. In a division full of world class workers, but still-developing personalities, Enzo is a stark abandonment from the high physical capabilities of typical Cruiserweight wrestlers. However, per Jericho, Neville has to focus on not just carrying himself but Amore too.
Jericho commented on how smart of a move it was for WWE to bring Amore Down in weight class as his potential on WWE's card was sure to be limited:
"He's one of those guys that personality-wise he's very bulletproof because he's so over-the-top and he's got such a good rap," Jericho said. "But where else is he gonna go in the headlining position, in the heavyweight division on RAW? I think it was a great move because I don't know what else you would do with him if you didn't stick him in there unless he was just gonna be a manager or a commentator."
Even further, according to Jericho, Enzo in 205 Live may be vital to the division's success:
"He fits that vibe size-wise and more importantly he's gonna bring eyeballs and attention, and people will actually pay attention to the matches that he's in."
There's no debating that Amore will add some much-needed personality to the Cruiserweights. And even though he may not be as gifted as his new peers, this juxtaposition will add intrigue. For now, 205 Live has our attention, let's hope they can see the opportunity.
