It’s impossible to keep a secret in 2017.
WWE was said to be doing their best to keep the finish of SummerSlam’s main event under wraps. So much so that the actual competitors were to be kept in the dark until the last minute.

Well, seeing that they’re renting out the arena for four consecutive days, WWE may have been contractually obligated to let the folks at Barclays in on privileged information. And now, WWE can officially regret divulging information to the loose lipped Barclays. In order to promote the RAW after SummerSlam, Barclays tweeted the following (SPOILER):
Keeping the stipulation at play for SummerSlam in mind, (Brock Lesnar leaves WWE if he loses the Universal Championship) this means that Brock Lesnar will be retaining on Sunday. If Brock loses he’d be back home cuddling Sable on Monday, not appearing on RAW.
Barclays has since deleted the tweet which only magnifies their flub.
Until this, Sunday’s Fatal 4-Way was set to be one of the most dramatic matches in WWE memory. With such a competitive field, WWE could have theoretically placed the Universal Championship on Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman with no issues.
Even worse, Barclays already did this last week. Last Friday’s leak involved John Cena’s surprise return to RAW:
We’re 10 days away from @WWE Monday Night RAW. Don’t miss Free Agent @JohnCena live here in Brooklyn on 8/21! #WWEBrooklyn pic.twitter.com/d4dMrsT5eW

Is WCW’s 1996 version of Eric Bischoff running Barclay’s twitter account? For those that don’t remember, Bischoff used to read off spoilers of pre-taped RAW on his live episode of WCW Monday Nitro.
Obviously, this is not the case, but man, this is bad. The Cena bit is forgivable, but to double down and making an even more significant mistake less than one week later? Sheesh.
We can’t expect WWE to audible off of Lesnar winning on Sunday just because of a negligent tweet. There is the chance that Barclays has no idea what they’re talking about, but the fact they deleted the tweet is incriminating, to say the least. But, anything can happen in WWE so maybe there’s still a plan that can re-insert surprise back into the match.
Earlier this week, WWE announced that SummerSlam 2018 will be held at Barclays for the fourth year in a row. Barclays has yet to spoil anything from that card, but you may want to stay off of Twitter just in case.
