Kurt Angle’s big reveal next week may not be what you’re thinking it is.
Pro Wrestling Sheet’s senior editor, James Mckenna, has been adamant over the last few weeks that the mysterious storyline will not be leading to a match between Angle and his old foe, Triple H.

“Just so we can squash this one more time, any rumor of Angle & HHH having a feud over the next few months is….let’s just say illegitimate.”

There’s some deduction to be made from Mckenna’s tweet. First, This has proven to be quite the mysterious storyline with not much room for guesses or spoilers. As Mckenna mentioned, some rumors have Triple H being the culprit behind the nefarious texts, which would set up a SummerSlam match between the Attitude Era heroes. But if Mckenna is right, then consider that rumor to be dead.

The next bit worth inspecting signals a stark departure from Kurt Angle wrestling at SummerSlam. The word “illegitimate” has us hanging. Assuming it was not a coincidental choice of words, this implies that Kurt Angle could have fathered a love child. Who it is, and who it came from is anyone’s guess.
However, it does seem likely that Angle is prepping for a return to ring action. In an interview with Esquire, Angle wasn’t too subtle about wrestling in WWE in the near future:
“Well right now I’m just concentrating on my behind-the-scenes role as General Manager. I haven’t even had a physical yet and I don’t expect I will have one until they [the WWE] have some more detail of what they want me to do down the line. But is there a possibility? Yeah, there is a definite possibility! I think it’s more than likely it will happen. I don’t know if it has to do with this new storyline that’s going on right now, but I’m sure that it will happen eventually. I still haven’t taken a physical though so I’m not going to get my hopes up until I do that.”
If that weren’t enough, Angle has an emotional incentive to hop back in the ring one more time:
“Well I have three little ones who have actually never seen me wrestle – a 6-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 7-month-old โ so I’ve always wanted to return to them. I want to show them what daddy can really do.”
We’ll all know so much more this time next week.
