Leah Remini has officially reunited with Kevin James on the small screen, as the actress has been named a series regular on James’ CBS series Kevin Can Wait. During a recent appearance on The Late Show, the actress opened up about her return, noting that she’s glad fans are happy to see her and James back together.
“I loved that,” she told host Stephen Colbert of the fans’ response. “It’s an amazing feeling.”

Remini and James previously starred together on King of Queens, playing a married couple. Remini appeared on a few episode of Kevin Can Wait during the show’s first season and was made a series regular after James’ on-screen wife was killed off on the show.
“At the end of his first season, I played his ex-partner,” Remini dished. “We were cops together, we were detectives together. So I just come back as that character.”
At the CBS Television Critics Association press tour earlier this month, CBS executives denied that killing off James’ on-screen wife, played by Erinn Hayes, and promoting Remini to series regular was their way of rebooting King of Queens.
“I don’t think so,” Entertainment Tonight reports CBS programming executive Thom Sherman as saying. “The show speaks for itself and stands for itself. Obviously, the chemistry [between Kevin James and Leah Remini] was amazing in the stunt episodes.”
