Last Sunday, the episode debuted on HBO and racked up over 2.4 million tweets, according to Variety.

Additionally, the top tweeted characters included Daenerys Targaryen, Sansa Stark, Cersei Lannister, and Jon Snow, with Daenerys and Tyrion’s Dragonstone landing being one of the top moments tweeted about.

However, the top tweeted about character and moment appear to be Arya Stark and her slaughter of house Frey.

Maisie Williams, who plays Arya, recently opened up about the scene.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, when Willaims was asked about that moment from the show, she said, “It’s so fโ€”ed up!” Williams said, “Even Arya is surprised she has so much power. In that last moment she’s staring out at all those men dying, she’s turned into a bit more of a monster than she’s ever realized. I don’t think she’s sad about that but she’s got it on her mind.”

She also talked about her character’s journey foreshadowing the turn of events by saying, “When I heard first heard about the Faceless Men, I always thought it would be really cool if she switched faces with a leading character rather than an unknown person’s face. I really hope [viewers] don’t guess it’s her straight away.”

Lastly, Williams said, “I’ve always had this fantasy in the back of my head โ€” I don’t think it’s a good ending and fans might not like it โ€” but that somebody would sit on the Iron Throne at the end and then they whip their face off and it’s Arya instead. I’ve always had that dream.”

The Sunday premiere of Game of Thrones broke records for HBO, and, as previously mentioned, it was one of the most talked-about events on social media. Fans buzzed about every single scene, including the controversial cameo of singer Ed Sheeran.

While the episode was a bit slower than most, using a lot of time to set up the rest of the events coming this season, there were quite a few epic scenes placed throughout.

So, as we wait for the second episode to air next Sunday, let’s take a look back at the best moments of the Season 7 premiere, starting with one we’ve been talking about…

Arya’s Slaughter

Game of Thronesย wasted no time in bringing death back to television, asย the premiere began with jaw-dropping murder of House Frey.

Aryaย finished up Season 6 by using what she learned from the many-faced god and assassinatingย Walderย Frey โ€” the man who killed her brother and mother. Killing the head of theย Freysย wasn’t enough forย Arya, though.ย

The introduction of the episode sawย Aryaย wear the face ofย Walderย Frey, give a devastating speech about the events of the Red Wedding and poison every member of House Frey that mattered.

Winter has come for House Frey…

Lyanna Mormont

Lyannaย Mormontย became an overnight sensation during the sixth season ofย Game of Thrones.

The young leader of Bear Island commands her people with more poise than just about every king or queen in the series. In her firstย scene,ย she stole the entire show and fans couldn’t get enough.

Lyannaย picked up right where she left off in Season 7, delivering a powerful speech in the defense of Jon Snow.

After Jonย was questioned for letting girls fight in his army,ย Lyannaย stood and told all of the men in the room that she would never back down, and all of Houseย Mormontย would fight alongside the King in the North.

Seriously,ย Lyannaย Mormontย is not to be messed with.

The Return of Jorah

Speaking ofย Mormonts,ย Jorahย made his Season 7 debutย in a surprising place during the premiere.

As Sam was taking pans away from the isolation chambers, he was grabbed by an arm that was riddled withย grayscale.

The man inside the cell, who was later revealed to beย Jorah, asked Sam if the Dragon Queen had arrived inย Westerosย yet.

Now that we knowย Jorahย is at The Citadel โ€” arguably the one place he can get treated for his disease โ€” we can begin believing that the guy has a small chance of survival.

Plus, who doesn’t love the idea of Sam andย Jorahย teaming up?

Dany’s Home

For six long seasons,ย Daenerysย has talked of her home, her lineage, and taking back what is rightfully hers.

We’ve all rooted for her since day one, and now she’s finally made it back to where she belongs.

As the premiere came to a close,ย Danyย made it back toย Dragonstone. She explored the castle with her inner-circle and she’sย readyingย them all for war.ย

With the final line in the episode,ย Daenerysย looked over toย Tyrionย and said, “Shall we begin?”

It was almost impossible not to get chills at that moment, let’s all be honest.
