HBO, and the producers of Game of Thrones, would never spoil the twists and turns of the popular series, but there's a chance that some hints could have been dropped about the upcoming seventh season.
The official YouTube channel of the show hasn't been uploading many videos as of late, as there haven't been new episodes since last year. Aside from the season seven teasers, what else is there to post?
Well, over the past couple of weeks, the YouTube channel has posted two clips from past seasons of the show. Two specific clips, with no context whatsoever.
If you really think about these clips, and about the story heading into season seven, these could be major hints at what we could see when July rolls around.
Let's break it down.
Fear Is For The Winter
The first clip is a call all the way back to season one, where Bran learns a lot about the mythology surrounding Winter.
Old Nan, Bran's former caretaker, told him all about the legend of the 'Long Night', and how the world was devastated by the White Walkers thousands of years ago.
This scene has always been important to Bran's story, as he's gone on to become the Three-Eyed Raven, the only person who can truly stop the White Walker army.
After season six, there is even more context to this clip, as Bran is facing more danger than ever before. Nan warns him that "Fear is for the Winter," and that he should be ready for it if it ever arrives.
If this clip is meant to drop a hint, you can expect Bran to venture out even further into enemy territory this season. Many believe that he is the key to stopping another Long Night, and this video is a solid reminder of that.prevnext
Winter is Here
The first scene was from season one, but the second is from the season six finale. The clip in question depicts Sansa and Jon in their most intimate moment to-date.
After Jon gives Sansa the lord's chambers, saying that she deserves it because he's "not a Stark," she replies with a touching line that solidifies their relationship.
"You are to me."
Now, heading into season seven, that relationship is going to be tested. Littlefinger is in Sansa's ear, trying to convince her to break away from Jon Snow and take the North for herself. Sansa will find herself stuck between the two.
If this scene is any indication, there will be a lot of drama in Winterfell. Sansa could turn out to be the key to protecting the North from the White Walkers.prevnext
