‘American Horror Story: Cult’ Posters Reveal Character Names and Details

FX is releasing a look at the all-new character posters for the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Cult and there are haunting hidden clues in each image.

The posters were unveiled on Thursday morning and show several of the show’s stars of the next season with their character names.

The names that were just revealed include Winter Anderson (Billie Lourd), Dr. Rudy Vincent (Cheyenne Jackson), Harrison Wilton (Billy Eichner), Ivy Mayfair-Richards (Alison Pill), and Detective Samuels (Colton Haynes).

Unlike last season, the showrunners are using a multiplatform marketing campaign to build excitement for season seven of AHS.

“This provides us the opportunity to do something different and to have a longform engagement with the viewers as we take them through this experience to premiere,” Jason Phipps, FX senior vp digital media marketing, said according to THR.

Most disturbingly, each character in their respective poster is being stalked or haunted by a scary clown cult member. Check out the American Horror Story: Cult character posters below.

‘AHS: Cult’ Character Posters: Billie Lourd

Billie Lourd will be starring in the role of Winter Anderson.

Lourd, the daughter of late Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, has worked with co-creator Ryan Murphy in the past on Scream Queens. The 25-year-old star isn’t the only Chanel that fans will be seeing this fall.

Murphy revealed on Tuesday that Emma Roberts, the original Chanel herself, was going to be featured in a role for Cult. See the photo here.

‘AHS: Cult’ Character Posters: Cheyenne Jackson

Cheyenne Jackson will be portraying Dr. Rudy Vincent. Judging by the photo, Jackson looks to be a psychiatrist.

Of the newly released character posters, Jackson is the only returning star that is featured in the images.

At this time, there are only a handful of details that have been revealed in regards to the storyline for the 11-episode season. One major plot point is that the next season will be set in Michigan and will use the Trump-Clinton election as a jumping point.

Murphy wants to highlight “people who don’t have a voice in our culture. People who are ignored by the current administration and who are afraid and feel terrorized that their lives are going to be taken away.”

‘AHS: Cult’ Character Posters: Billy Eichner

Billy Eichner will be taking on the role of Harrison Wilton.

Eichner, 38, made a name for himself by starring in Hulu comedy series Difficult People and previously having a part on NBC’s Parks & Recreation. However, he is most known for his popular man-on-the-street series Billy on the Street.

There isn’t much that immediately jumps out in terms of revealing details of Eichner’s character from poster other than that he is being stalked by a terrifying clown.

‘AHS: Cult’ Character Posters: Alison Pill

Alison Pill will be portraying Ivy Mayfair-Richards.

The 31-year-old actress has never been part of the AHS franchise, but she looks like she is going to fit right in with her crazed facial expression while wielding a massive butcher knife in her poster.

Since being cast in AHS: Cult, Pill has been expressing her excitement for the role quite frequently on social media. On Thursday, she took to Instagram to post a collage of the recently revealed character posters. She shared the post with the caption: “Get ready…September 5…Meet my four new fantastic co-stars in character.”

‘AHS: Cult’ Character Posters: Colton Haynes

Colton Haynes is starring as Detective Samuels.

When Murphy announced that the Arrow star was going to be joining the AHS family, he shared a picture of the 29-year-old actress with blood smeared all over his mouth.

While the initial teaser hinted that Haynes might be taking on a deranged cannibal type role, it’s clear now that his character is part of the police force. Just like the other characters, Haynes’ Detective Samuels is being stalked by a creepy clown.

AHS: Cult premieres Sept. 5 on FX at 10 p.m. ET.
