Former ‘Criminal Minds’ Star Delivers Touching Message To Fans

Damon Gupton may be out at Criminal Minds, but he’s still getting all kind of love from fans of the series.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Gupton would be exiting Criminal Minds heading into season 13, after just one season as a series regular. This shocked fans, as well as the actor himself.

In the weeks that followed his departure announcement, an outpouring of love for Gupton flooded his Twitter feed, as the fans were clearly upset to see him go. Folks began sending Gupton photos of his character from the show, messages about how great his performance was, and just kind thoughts in general.

Now, a couple weeks after being let go, the actor has responded to his fans’ overwhelming response.

The actor tweeted, “I’d really like to thank all of the Criminal Minds fans who kindly reached out to me over the last two weeks. Very moving. You have my heart.”

For those hoping to see Gupton again, it’s good to know that he’s already pursuing his first post-Criminal Minds role. A couple of weeks ago, he tweeted out a message about an audition he had, noting that it was always difficult to try out for something after just losing your job.

While Damon Gupton won’t be along for the ride, Criminal Minds will return to CBS on Wednesday, September 27 at 10pm ET.
