Here Are the Most Absurd Memes Online Right Now

Memes are the best thing to come out of internet culture, hands down. With so much great humor floating around, there’s tons you can miss, and we’re here to help you catch up.

Without further ado, here are eight of the oddest memes floating around, featuring references to Taylor Swift, cute aquatic creatures and of course, a guy in a make-shift Buzz Lightyear costume.

1. When Panoramas Go Wrong

Reddit user weskbob shared this panorama fail to the site’s funny subbreddit, and it quickly became one of the day’s top posts.

Taken at a football game, this unsuspecting guy apparently decided to move at the worst possible time, giving him some extra perceived junk in the trunk.

2. Taylor Swift

Twitter has been having a field day with Taylor Swift this past week. The pop star unveiled an “edgy” new re-brand that most outside her fan base ridiculed or sighed at.

One of the most common comparisons was that it appeared Swift was knocking off the aesthetic of Beyoncé’s “Formation” video in the above shot.

There were a ton of hilarious takes on the comparison, but this white-washed remix of Bey’s “My daddy Alabama, momma Louisiana You mix that negro with that Creole, make a Texas bama” line is arguably the best.

3. Taylor Swift, Again

The Swift memes piled on this week, and one of the easiest aspects of her new song, “Look What You Made Me Do,” to make fun of has the line about “the old Taylor” not being able to come to the phone right now because “she’s dead.”

Twitter user Rachel Sanders took the opportunity to blend the lyric with the classic internet image of a dog talking on the phone.

4. Distracted Cat-Boyfriend

Aside from making fun of Taylor Swift, the other go-to outlet for humor on Twitter has been the “Distracted Boyfriend” meme. Basically, it’s a stock image of a boyfriend eyeing a girl walking by while he girlfriend looks on in shock.

There’s been a ton of edits, bonus stock photos, meme hybrids and more, but we’ll keep it simple and give you this version about a cat liking boxes.

5. The Future Vegans Want

This remix of the “future liberals want” meme from a few months back is all about one of the internet’s favorite targets: vegans.

6. Bud Lightyear

In a pure moment of Reddit randomness, user stevenmbm shared the above photo of “Bud Lightyear,” a man in a Buzz Lightyear costume made out of Bud Light boxes.

Who is this guy? Why does this costume exist? Why does this seem to be socially acceptable attire for this beer store? No one knows, but it’s good to know that he’s out there protect convenience stores across the galaxy, to infinity and beyond.

7. Otter Space

As we begin to wrap things up on a more wholesome note, enjoy this Tumblr screengrab that’s been floating around.

In this “punny” reply from user runs-on-ramen, we see that this tiny otter with PVC pipe is simply taking the pieces to otter space. If that’s not adorable to you, I don’t know what else to say.

On our last and totally wholesome note, we have this newsworthy happy stingray. He’s apparently in a great mood, and “his flappy parts are very flappy indeed.”
