Jeffrey Tambor is currently being investigated after a former assistant accused him of sexual harassment.
Van Barnes, who worked for Tambor on Transparent, reportedly accused the actor of improper behavior in a private Facebook post earlier this week, according to Deadline. It’s unclear what Tambor is specifically accused of doing, but once Amazon caught wind of the allegations, they immediately began an investigation.

“I am aware that a former disgruntled assistant of mine has made a private post implying that I had acted in an improper manner toward her,” Tambor said. “I adamantly and vehemently reject and deny any and all implication and allegation that I have ever engaged in any improper behavior toward this person or any other person I have ever worked with.”
“I am appalled and distressed by this baseless allegation,” he added.
Barnes is also known for her work on Caitlyn Jenner’s reality series I Am Cait and Amazon’s docuseries This Is Me.

This allegation is especially alarming for Amazon due to the other recent allegations of sexual misconduct by executives in recent weeks. Amazon Studios head Roy Price was one of the first execs accused of sexual harassment in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein allegations.
Amazon is said to be investigating the claims “promptly and thoroughly.” Tambor and other members of Transparent‘s production will be interviewed about the matter.
Transparent is not currently filming, so there are no immediate impact on the show’s production.
