Jessica Simpson Reacts to Rumors She’s the Next Bachelorette

She may be single, but Jessica Simpson refuses to find love on reality television. The “With You” singer is reacting to rumors that she’s being cast as the next lead on The Bachelorette.

Simpson announced her split from former NFL player Eric Johnson in Jan. 2025. The former couple share three children and were married for a decade.

“I have options,” the 45-year-old told TMZ when asked about the rumors she’s in the running as the next Bachelorette. “I’m good.” Regarding the “huge ratings” her appearance on the show would bring, she pushed back more, noting, “I don’t care about that.”

Reality television is not foreign to the singer. She starred on Newlyweds With Nick & Jessica for three seasons in the early 2000s. The series was a hit for MTV and chronicled her marriage to Nick Lachey. Shortly after the series ended, they split.

Simpson’s casting wouldn’t come as a major surprise considering the show’s new casting changes. Season 22’s lead is Taylor Frankie Paul, a staple from Hulu’s Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. The casting choice was made public in September 2025, marking the first time the lead came from outside the Bachelor franchise itself.

Simpson is open to dating again. “I think I’m into younger men at the moment.” she told Extra in October. “I feel like younger guys kinda like the confidence of an older women, I’m discovering. I am having fun!”

Despite the split, Simpson is focused on co-parenting and trying to remain amicable with her ex. “We are all a big, happy family,” she told E! News in September after she and Johnson were seen together watching her little sister Ashlee perform in Las Vegas. “So it’s important for all of us.”

She also spoke on the two of them planning to spend the 2025 holiday season together. “No matter what, your kid is half the other person,” Jessica told TMZ in December. “Always have respect in what you say around [your kids] so they can always have a good perspective on it. Unconditional love is important.”
