The singer and her sons, Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 2, hit the road, touring all over the United States and Canada.
The pop star talked about what it was like to be on tour not only as an artist but as a mother.
“Now that I’m a mother, I really hadn’t toured with the boys,” said Stefani, who adored “seeing dads who were, like, tatted upโthey’d probably been old school No Doubt fansโwith their daughter on their shoulders, like their first show. The whole thing was full circle and magical,” Stefani said.
“I had this epiphany that they’re a refection of my heart, because they’re the people who actually listened and cared. I got to meet people before the showโlike 50 people before the show every dayโand they were telling me their stories and how they related to the music. It was incredible, because I hadn’t done it in like seven years.”
Due to her busy schedule, Stefani had to give up her spot on The Voice. She had a chance to go to set a few times and talked about how excited she is for the future of the show and the closeness she still feels with her fellow judges.
“I got to go down to the set a few times, and it was really fun. It’s surreal. You’re there and you’re like, ‘I’m not on the show and it’s Miley and it’s Alicia. I mean, I love both of them. I know both of them and they’re both so talented in their own ways ,and it’s so fun to see them interact,” Gwen said. “And Adam’s actually been FaceTiming me all day because he just had his baby. She’s so cute!”
At the end of the interview the hilarious host added a quick little side note, asking when Stefani and boyfriend Blake Shelton are getting married.
Stefani chuckled and said, “Oh, you’re crazy” but promised to let the comedian know.
