Val Kilmer took part in a strange Batman-themed video, and his fans were thrilled to see the 57-year-old actor donning the signature mask once again for “National Superhero Day” this past weekend.

The first brief clip shows Val Kilmer, who portrayed Bruce Wayne in the 1995 flick Batman Forever, alongside a filmmaker friend producing a comedy sketch. Over the course of the bizarre video, Kilmer and his pal don various masks and outfits that resemble the caped crusader. Towards the end of the clip, the Top Gun alum puts on the Batman mask while saying, “It’s been a while.”

Kilmer shared the first video on Twitter with the caption: “#NationalSuperheroDay brings us a comedy by david Choe with me at his studio yesterday.”

After the first video was released, Kilmer was met with a largely positive response from his adoring fans. Because it was so well-received, Kilmer treated his followers to another clip with more footage.

He shared the second video with the caption: “More for #NationalSuperheroDay by #davidChoe. Stay close to his feeds he’s gonna change how people understand art in ONE SHOW! in LA/July”

After Kilmer posted the videos, Twitter erupted with responses.

When Val Kilmerย isn’t making goofy Batman videos, he hasย reportedly been battling cancer. During a recent Redditย Ask Me Anything (AMA), Kilmerย answered a fan question and admitted for the first time to a “healing of cancer.”

“A while ago, Michael Douglas claimed you had terminal cancer,” the fan asked. “What was the story behind that?”

Kilmerย responded by writing: “[Douglas] was probably trying to help me cause press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer, but my tongue is still swollenย althoย healing all the time.ย Because I don’t sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather.”

Before last week’s Redditย AMA, Kilmerย denied having cancer. Earlier this year, he spoke out about Douglas’ comments and said that he was “misinformed.”

“I love Michael Douglas but he is misinformed,”ย Kilmerย wrote. “The last time I spoke to him was almost two yearsย ago,ย when I asked him for a referralย forย a specialist to get a diagnosis for a lump in my throat, which prevented me from continuing a tour of my play CITIZEN TWAIN. I ended up using a team atย UCLAย and have no cancer whatsoever.”
